Cracks Appear in Antarctic Ice Shelves Again in 2021

In 2002, the Larsen B ice shelf collapsed in the Weddell Sea, covering 3,250 square kilometers, an area larger than Luxembourg and the U.S. state of Rhode Island.
In 2017, the collapse of larsen C, an epic ice shelf, caused global boiling and was considered “a tipping point for global climate change”.
Most climate scientists say the burning of fossil fuels in power plants, factories and cars emits greenhouse gases that are warming the earth’s climate and causing more erosion, flooding and rising sea levels.

According to CarbonMonitor’s daily measurement of carbon emissions, the majority of global co2 emissions come from electricity (39 per cent), industrial production (28 per cent), land transport (18 per cent), aviation (3 per cent), shipping (2 per cent) and residential consumption (10 per cent).  In order to further explore the path to achieve carbon neutrality in China, we sorted out the sources of carbon emissions from three dimensions: energy, sector and region.
In order to contain a series of potential risks caused by climate warming, many countries around the world have reached a consensus to start a carbon peak, carbon neutral plan.
What is carbon neutrality?
Carbon neutrality means having a balance between emitting carbon and absorbing carbon from the atmosphere in carbon sinks. Removing carbon oxide from the atmosphere and then storing it is known as carbon sequestration. In order to achieve net zero emissions, all worldwide greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions will have to be counterbalanced by carbon sequestration.
On September 22, 2020, Chinese President Xi Jinping said at the 75th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, “China will increase its nationally determined contribution, adopt more effective policies and measures, strive to peak co2 emissions by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.”
In addition, China also has many local policies to encourage enterprises to save energy and reduce emissions, and actively advocate green travel for individual consumers to share trips and make joint efforts to reduce carbon emissions.

As a company based in one of China’s most economically developed cities, Soames itself produces renewable energy.  We lead by example. We produce electricity and use our own solar brackets and systems.  At the same time, we export photovoltaic systems to all parts of the world to support all enterprises and individuals who pursue green and sustainable development.  We hope to be able to defend our green planet together with you, defend our living environment!
